Check-in

From 4:00 PM, self check-in. Arriving late, even after midnight, is fine and costs nothing — send us your estimated time so we can make sure you find the place in the dark.

Getting here

Albany and Albany International (ALB) are about 13 miles. A car is essential out here.

Door code & Wi-Fi

Both arrive in your private check-in message. Wi-Fi is unlimited, with no data or speed cap.

Main House. Seven bedrooms and eight king beds. The master has its own full bath; bedrooms 2–5 share a second-floor bath, and bedrooms 6 and 7 sit on the ground floor of the garage building with their own bath and no stairs to climb. Bedroom 4, behind the picture door, holds two kings.

Downstairs: a chef’s kitchen built for a group of twenty, an underground wine cellar, a basement lounge with an 85-inch screen, a foosball table, and a single stationary bike if you like to ride. Laundry is on the first floor — the iron and board live in the laundry room. Beach and pool towels are in the kitchen closet, where you would never think to look.

Tiny Home. A secluded waterfront retreat far across the acreage, with its own deck, grill and fire pit. Different guests, so the water immediately around it is theirs while they are here.

Sleeping more

Up to twenty sleep here with the extra kit — two pack-and-plays, a roll-out bed, floor mats and the sleepable couches. Ask before you arrive so it is made up with fresh linens; we are glad to move a bed once you have decided who sleeps where.

Your party

Everyone staying overnight is on the reservation, up to twenty. Guests after the first carry a $45 per night fee — the count also keeps the house properly insured for the people in it.

Day visitors

Welcome, and they do not count toward the twenty. We ask that they head home by 7:00 PM. Hosting family for dinner is usually fine too — tell us the headcount.

Pets & smoking

Neither, anywhere on the property.

Towels & toiletries

Hotel-grade towels and linens in the bathrooms and bedroom closets; hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner stocked.

The pool is L-shaped: about three feet across the short arm, sloping to roughly ten at the far end. It is not heated, so it swims best from late May through September and is closed for the colder months — if your stay is October or later, plan on the fire pits and the woods instead. No lifeguard, so children swim with an adult watching, and please keep glass away from the water.

A hundred acres of private trails, the pond, a shared dock and two campfire pits at the water. Fishing is catch-and-release. You are welcome to bring your own kayak or canoe and use it at your own risk; we do not keep any. Ask and we will put firewood by the pit. The one place to skip is the waterfront right around the Tiny Home — that is another guest’s doorstep.

These are the owner’s own rotation, with road miles from the house. Reserve early for a big group.

Check-out

11:00 AM, firm — the house often turns the same day, so we do not offer a later time. If mornings are hard, an early entry on the way in is the better trade.

Before you go

Load the dishwasher, no need to run it. Pile used towels in the nearest bathroom and leave the beds as they are — we remake every one. Bag the trash for the house cans or the dumpsters at the entrance. Grill off, fire pit cold, windows and doors closed and locked; on the keypad doors, press the top button once the door is shut.

Forgotten

Message us the same day and we will look during the turnover. Anything left behind is disposed of unless it is clearly something valuable.

Returning guests book direct with us at a rate no listing shows. It arrives in your inbox a few days after you leave.

Us

Reply in the message thread you booked through; we watch it day and night during your stay.

Emergency

Call 911 first, then tell us. The nearest hospitals are in the Albany area; we can give you the closest one for your situation the moment you ask.

Something broken

Tell us in the thread rather than troubleshooting it — hot water, heat, an appliance, the pool. We get a technician out the same day where we can, and we will give you their name and a time. Rooms are not numbered yet, so describe the floor and the fixture.
